Nancy Carolyn Potter

Ms. Nancy Carolyn Potter, 80, of Dobson NC passed away December 13, 2023. Nancy was born July 4, 1943, in Surry County to the late Grady Columbus and Pearl Bowers White. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Nancy was a faithful member of Salem Fork Baptist Church, where she served as the church pianist for many years. She was also a dedicated bus driver for the school system, especially for the school band. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Christi Hazelwood and Danny; son, Kenneth Gray Gwyn; a very special granddaughter, Kayla Nixon and John; grandchildren, Addison Nixon, and Colton Nixon; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie Venable and Kerry; Sister-in-law, Janie White; as well as a niece, Elizabeth Hyde and Michael. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother, Billy White. A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Salem Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Sean Joplin officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Services. Interment will follow the service in the Salem Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at Salem Fork Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Fork Baptist Church, 555 Twin Oaks Road, Elkin, NC 28621. Moody-Davis Funeral Services is serving the family.
