Nancy Bell Hooper Thompson

Mrs. Nancy Bell Hooper Thompson, 76, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Thompson was born August 8, 1948, in Carroll County, VA, the daughter of the late James Nelson and Lena Bell Easter Hooper. Nancy worked in textiles for most of her life. She is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven Delon Thompson, John David Thompson, and Nicholas Scott and Candace T. Thompson; five grandchildren, Cody Ryan Thompson, Miranda Paige Thompson Smith, Savanah Mae Thompson, Hannah Thompson, and Peyton Thompson; two sisters, Jean McMillian and Faye Williams; a brother, David Hooper; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Paige Delon Thompson; and a sister, Sandra Gale French. A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at White Rock Church Cemetery in Thurmond, with the Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy is serving the family.
