It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Miss Natalie Alaine Poteat, age 21, of Mount Airy. She passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Miss Natalie was born in Forsyth County on May 21, 2004, to Chad Poteat and Alaine Faw Poteat. She was a dear daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend, she’ll be deeply missed by the many that knew her and never will be forgotten. Natalie had a bright personality, always smiling and could brighten a room with her presence. Though her time on earth was short, she made the most of it everyday living her dreams. Miss Natalie is survived by her parents, Chad and Alaine Poteat; brother, Elliott Poteat; aunt, Allison Poteat; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Ann Faw, paternal great-grandmother, Elaine Snow; many cousins, aunts and uncles. Natalie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Phillip Henry and Patricia Snow Poteat. A funeral service to honor Miss Poteat’s life will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM at The Bridge Church in Mount Airy with the Rev. Don Whichard and Rev. Jeff Harris officiating. A burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM until time of the service at The Bridge Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice PO Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017 in honor of Miss Natalie. The family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, help and support during this difficult time. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Poteat family.
