Nathaniel Lee Harrison

        Mr. Nathaniel Lee Harrison, or as some of his friends called him “NateDawg” unexpectedly ended his life on February 22, 2024, at the age of 21.

        Nate was a very private person in life and probably wouldn’t want to end that life with people gawking at him laying in a coffin.  His family thought seriously about propping him against a jukebox with a bottle of Turkey in his hand, and of course a big smile on his face so that he would appear natural to visitors.  Instead, the family decided to cremate his body and hope to spread his ashes sometime in July during Cheyenne Days.  He always wanted to see the “Big Daddy of Them All” and that’s what we will do in his honor.  As a fellow bull rider himself that was one of his favorite passions!

        He also wanted to make his momma, father, brothers, and sisters proud, so he joined the Marines, where he served well and was honorably discharged in 2021.

        We could go on for hours and days how good of a man he was.  He had an old soul, a good heart, and was loved dearly by many.   Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Nate’s life in their own way.  Raising a glass of their favorite drink in his memory would be “quite” the appropriate start.  For those that would like to express condolences a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at 1058 Philpott Dam Road, Bassett, VA 24055.  Online condolences may be made by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
