Nelda Gray Holder Goings

Mrs. Nelda Gray Holder Goings, age 87, of Mount Airy, NC passed to her home in heaven on October 25, 2024 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Surry County to the late Beatrice Hodges Holder and Harland Virgil Holder. Nelda worked a variety of jobs but is most remembered for the genuine love, care, and compassion she provided to others, especially her family. She was a devout Christian and a proud member of First Baptist Church of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Tyrone Holder, sister-in-law Shelby Holder, and father and mother-in-law Henley and Zella Goings. Nelda is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clarence Goings, Gary Goings of Mount Airy, Grant and Shannon Goings of Wilson, NC, grandsons Weston, Mason and Bennett Goings, brother, Tony Holder, sister-in-law, Mary-Lynn Holder Dunbar, special aunt Lee Griffith, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
