Nina Genevie Puckett Westmoreland

Mrs. Nina Genevie Puckett Westmoreland, 91, of 1000 Pilot View Church Road, Hillsville, VA, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born August 6, 1919, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Falus Penn and Mabel Bolt Puckett. She retired from Parkway Knitting and was a member of Pilot View Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ted and Eddy Merle Westmoreland of Hillsville, VA, and Jerry Twain Westmoreland of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, Tracy Pack and her husband, Tony, of Hillsville, VA, Lee Scott Westmoreland of Los Angeles, CA, Audrey Westmoreland of Hillsville, VA, Mark Westmoreland and his wife, Sarah, of Richmond, VA, and Amy Westmoreland of Richmond, VA; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn Harris of Abingdon, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Rayton and Faith Puckett of Hillsville, VA; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Westmoreland was preceded in death by her husband, Twain Westmoreland; three sisters, Evelyn Turman, Audrey Stanley, and Geraldine Terry; and three brothers, the Rev. Serle Puckett, Paul Puckett, and Maynard Puckett. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Bill Watson and the Rev. Rayton Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilot View Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
