Norma Carol "Jack" Simons Haynes

Ms. Norma Carol “Jack” Simons Haynes, age 81, of Mount Airy, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 27, 2026. She was born April 19, 1945, in Carroll County Virginia, to the late Ralph Simons and the late Irene Wood Simons. Ms. Haynes was a loving mother, nanny, sister and friend to all she met. She retired from Renfro as a supervisor after 35 years of service. She was also a faithful member of Fancy Gap Baptist Church. Norma was known for her sense of humor, her generous heart, and the care she always provided to others.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Kevin Haynes and his girlfriend, Jennifer Bowman; granddaughter, Rylee Giles, and her husband Winston Giles; her grandson, Garret Haynes and his girlfriend, Morgan Steelman; great granddaughter, Winnie Beth Giles; great grandson, Worth Garrison Haynes; her sisters, Martha Sechrist and Bertha Shepherd; and her brother, James “Sonny” Simons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Madalene Anders, Darlene Burnett, Patsy Forest, and Mary Sue Johnson.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy. Services will begin at 2:00, in the Moody Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Northern Skilled Nursing and Mountain Valley Hospice.
