Norma Jean Edmonds

Mrs. Norma Jean Edmonds, 83, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Northern Regional Hospital, Sunday, February 5, 2023.  She was born in Surry County, June 17, 1939, to the late Elbert R. and Georgia Viola Hundley Cooke. Mrs. Edmonds was a loving mother and grandmother, aunt, and friend.  She devoted her life to her family, her church, and caring for children.  Mrs. Edmonds enjoyed gardening and grew many beautiful flowers.  Mrs. Edmonds will be lovingly remembered by her son, William Levi Hall and wife, Rebecca; her daughter, Tracie Edmonds; grandsons, Landon Horton and wife Megan and Noah Hall; great granddaughter, Iris Horton; bonus sons, Sam Hall and wife, Kim, Chad Brindle and wife, Michelle; bonus daughter, Tammy Simmons and husband, Denny; all the relatives in the very special extended Edmonds family; special friends, Jane Joyce Burgess, Geraldine Inman; and her dog, “Bo”.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edmonds was preceded in death by her husband William Bill Edmonds; her son, William Kevin Edmonds; brothers, Herman, Keith, and Vernon Cooke.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 PM until the time of the service.
