Patricia James (Snow) Poteat

Mrs. Patricia James Snow Poteat passed away at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson on Tuesday morning, November 19, 2024. She was born on September 1, 1952, to James M. Snow, Jr and Elaine Frye Snow. Patricia graduated from Mount Airy High School and spent most of her career in banking and bookkeeping but is most remembered for working as a Podiatric Assistant to Dr. John Hodges, DPM and Dr. David Stauffer, DPM for many years in Mount Airy, NC. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She always took care of everyone else and never went without a smile. Patricia was a member of Holy Cross Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving is her daughter, Allison Poteat; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Alaine Poteat; grandson Elliott Poteat; granddaughter Natalie Poteat and her mother, Elaine Snow (all of Mount Airy), as well as 5 Siblings, Anne Moser (Gary) of Pinnacle, Sue McLean (Jim) of Topsail Beach, Eddie Snow of Pilot Mtn, Pam Mitchell (Joey) of Claudeville, VA and Chris Snow (Jacinda) of Cary, NC, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Phillip Poteat; her father James Snow, Jr.; father-in-law and stepmother-in-law, Tollie and Bertha Poteat; mother-in-law, Inez Willard Bass; sister-in-law, Linda Roberts; and a very special nephew, Jerrald Mitchell. A service to honor Patricia’s life will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, November 25, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Woodrow Holder and Rev. Don Whichard officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home 12:00pm until the time of the service. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the compassion and amazing care shown by the Mountain Valley Hospice team and Woltz Hospice Home Staff, as well as Dr. Jennifer Chapman of Novant Surry Medical Associates for her care and compassion during the past years.
