Patsy (Pat) Irene Edmonds

On Monday, September 14, 2026, Patsy (Pat) Irene Edmonds, née Draughn, peacefully entered her heavenly home and the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pat graduated from Surry Central High School in 1973 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She retired in 2017 after 44 years of dedicated service from Surry-Yadkin Electric Membership Corporation. She was a longtime member of Salem Baptist Church. Pat was a wonderful wife and mother, a woman of strong Christian faith and a kind, gentle soul. She loved spending time with family and friends, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Pat is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Breanna and Will Bennett of Yadkinville; grandchildren, Abigail Marie and Oliver Luke Bennett; sister and brother-inlaw, Frances, née Draughn, and James Higgins of Dobson; and many dear family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31 years, Hugh Edmonds; parents, Howard Montgomery Draughn and Verlie Irene Draughn, née Norman; and niece, Lorie Ann Goodwin, née Higgins. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church. A celebration of Pat’s life will be held Sunday, September 20, at 2:00 p.m. at the church, with burial following. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to ALS United North Carolina or SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the ALS Clinic at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and SECU Hospice Home of Yadkinville for their compassionate care and support.
