Paul Nephi Hiatt, Sr.

Mr. Paul Nephi Hiatt, Sr., age 88, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his home.  He was born September 15, 1930 in Surry County, one of eleven children born to the late David Lafayette and Ethel Mene Puckett Hiatt.  Mr. Hiatt was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Fay Atkins Hiatt.  They were the parents of six children.  They had fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.  The funeral service will be held October 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop John Bradley officiating.  Burial will follow in the James Monroe Hiatt Memorial Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the James Monroe Hiatt Memorial Cemetery Fund, c/o David Hiatt, P. O. Box 1204, Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt.
