Paul Gray Hodges

Mr. Paul Gray Hodges, 59, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010, at his home. Mr. Hodges was born November 28, 1950, in Surry County, to Lee and Lena Felts Hodges. He was the coordinator for the Mount Airy Downtown Business Association as well as an accomplished writer, actor, and storyteller. Mr. Hodges was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to many. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Matthew Wallace of Mount Airy; a stepdaughter, Heather Elliott of Mount Airy; a stepson, Edward Elliott of Wilmington; two granddaughters, Ashley Wallace and Kaylee Wallace; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Troy and Betty Hodges, Arlis and Faye Hodges, and Hardin Hodges, all of Mount Airy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Hodges. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Antioch Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Home to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
