Pauline Foy Younger

Mrs. Pauline Foy Atkins Younger, 95, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, July 31, 2023, at Twelve Oaks in Mt. Airy.  She was born in Surry County on January 5, 1928, to the late Caleb Winfrey and Pearl Belle Johnson Atkins.  Mrs. Younger retired from Baldwins Department Store and was a member of White Plains Friends Meeting.  Pauline was such a friendly lady who always had a smile on her face every time you met her.  She is survived by a sister, Jackie Cave; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Younger was preceded in death by her husband Randolph Younger; her sons and daughter-in-law, Harry Richard and Joyce Younger, Benny Dale Younger; a sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye Atkins and Grady Fowler, Peggy and Hampton Simmons, J.B Cave; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter Atkins, Troy and Esther Atkins, Lonnie Atkins, and Carl and Peggy Atkins.  A graveside service will be held Friday, August 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM at White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery with the Rev. Jake Penley officiating. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to White Plains Friends Meeting, 849 Old US 601, Mt. Airy, NC 27030, or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 1427 Edgewood Dr., Suite 101, Mt.
