Peggy Louise Chandler Webb

Ms. Peggy Louise Chandler Webb, 83 of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, June 22, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson with family by her side. Born in Surry County to the late Louis and Lillie Mathis Chandler on March 14, 1943. Mrs. Webb worked many years at the Mount Airy News. She was a loving mom, grandmother, and friend. She loved to quilt and give her quilts to her family and friends and spend time with her family. She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Stacey Webb, Kevin and Patti Webb, and Tracy and Marcie Webb; four grandchildren, Amy and Matthew Gorman, Nicholas and Herbert Webb, Emily Webb, and Carson Webb; a special fur grand pup, Willow; four great grandchildren, Avett Gorman, Adeline Gorman, Riley Edwards, and Harrison Edwards, and a baby boy Gorman due later this year; sister, Brenda Chandler Hiatt; sisters-in-law, Barbara Chandler, Linda Chandler, Ruthie Dillon and Barbara Jean Bowman; many nieces and nephews; her very special friends, Martha and Aaron Eaton, (we would like to thank them for their help and friendship); and her favorite hospice nurse and friend, April Badgett, who was awesome in caring for Peggy. In addition to her parents, Ms. Webb was preceded in death by sisters, Lois Chandler, Pauline Chandler Lovill and Janie Bondurant; brothers, Billy Chandler, Johnny Chandler, Wade Chandler, Don Chandler, and Larry Chandler. A private graveside service will be held at Midkiff Cemetery with her immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, PO Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017 or to Salem Fellowship Church, 2591 Wards Gap Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
