Peggy Gordon McCormick

Peggy Gordon McCormick, 90, from Dobson, North Carolina, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, Monday, September 2, 2024. Born July 30, 1934, to the late Cecil and Velzora Shelton Gordon. Peggy owned Dobson Trucking and was a member of Dobson First Baptist Church. She enjoyed cross-stitching and crocheting. Mrs. McCormick was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters and son-in-law, DeAnne Haynes, and Donna and Joey Tucker; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert “Bob” McCormick, and Jimmy McCormick and Scarlett; grandchildren, Lindsay and Sara Tucker, Jade and Anthony Kiger, Jordon and Andrea Tucker, Hannah and Sean Johnson, Robert McCormick Jr. and Katie, and Chase McCormick and Megan; great grandchildren, Sylar Tucker, Mason Kiger, Anistyn Kiger, Elyn Kiger, Jace Tucker, Adley Tucker, Sylvie Tucker, Robert “Beau” McCormick III, one on the way, Lillian McCormick, and Cade McCormick; sister, Kathy Collins Simpson; nephew, Johnny Collins and Angela; and great nephew, Matthew Collins. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Folger “Nub” McCormick; and son-in-law, David Haynes. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Moody-Davis Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Dobson First Baptist Church with Rev. Cory Honeycutt officiating. Following the service entombment will take place in the Badgett Family Cemetery Mausoleum.
