Peggy Tatum Williams of Port Republic, Maryland passed away peacefully on May 07, 2026 in her hometown of Stuart, VA. She was born on January 27, 1931 in High Point, NC to the late William C. Tatum, Sr. and Mary Alice Jones Tatum of Patrick County, VA.
She, her husband, and two sons moved to Calvert County, MD in 1963 where they lived for more than 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Aaron Williams; her son, Richard Steven Williams; her brother, William “Billy” C. Tatum Jr.; her sister, Rebecca “Sal” Tatum Deatherage; her brother, Bobby “Chic” Lee Tatum; and brother-in-law, Bill Deatherage. A lover of people and her Lord, she was a member of Waters Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Michael Keith Williams; three grandchildren, Melissa Jean (Jay) Devlin, Michael Shayne (Tracey) Williams, and Damon Keith (Dawn) Williams; her beloved great-grandchildren, Zoe Gertz, Hailey Williams (Max) Friederich, Chloe Gertz, Camryn Williams, Claire Williams, and Kalli Williams. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Pauline Tatum; her daughter-in-law, Jessica Leone; and many other cherished friends and family members.
A memorial visitation for Mrs. Williams will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, VA from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 pm. to 6:00 p.m. Burial arrangements will be announced at a later date.
