Mr. Benton Neal Terrell, age 81, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born on May 24, 1944 in Surry County to the late Thomas and Rachel Neal Terrell. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Judy Denny Terrell; children, Neal Terrell, Brandon Terrell, Sarandon Terrell, Justin Terrell (Morgan); grandchildren, Danielle Terrell, Hannah Ward (Jordyn), Samantha Terrell, Brooklyn Thomas (Eli), Braedyn Terrell, London Terrell, Landon Terrell; great-grandchildren, Emery Thomas, Adalyn Ward, Kaylyn Ward; sisters, Maureen Simpson and Anita Bryant. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Holly Springs Baptist Church with service conducted by Rev. Terry Watson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 PM~ 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to say special thanks to the ICCU floor in Forsyth Medical Center; the staff of the Woltz Hospice Home, and the Novant Health Cancer Center in Mt. Airy for all the care and kindness shown to the family as well as Mr. Terrell.
