Rachel Larma Puckett Inman

Mrs. Rachel Larma Puckett Inman, 83, of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, May 11, 2026. Mrs. Inman was born July 18, 1942, in Carroll County, VA, one of fourteen children born to the late Maynard Thomas and Larma Collins Puckett. Rachel retired from Sara Lee Hosiery after many years of dedicated service as a supervisor in the knitting department. She was a faithful member of Indian Grove Baptist Church and was known for her kind and generous spirit. Rachel loved helping others, never met a stranger, and had a special ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her warmth, compassion, and friendly nature will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by a stepdaughter and her husband, Deborah and Jackie Faulkner; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rebekah Mace, Edith and Barnard Montgomery, Ina Alderman, Ann Keith, and Beryl and J.L. Cox; five brothers and six sisters-in-law, Truman and Ollie Mae Puckett, Winston and Olita Puckett, Stuart and Susan Puckett, Dan and Jan Puckett, Bret and Nancy Puckett, and Linda Puckett; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Inman was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Lilborn Inman; a stepson, David Inman; and three brothers, Grant Puckett, Max Puckett, and Kelsey Puckett. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Frank Harmon and the Rev. Stephen Puckett officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
