Rachel Alene (Beamer) Ramey

Mrs. Rachel Alene Beamer Ramey, age 97 of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Surry Community Health Center by Harborview. Mrs. Ramey was born on September 18, 1927, in Surry County to the late John Adam and Mary Elizabeth Hill Beamer. Rachel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Shelia Ramey Kegley, Melissa Ramey Creed and Thomas; two grandchildren, Willie Kegley, Holly DePrisco and John; three great-grandchildren, Brody DePrisco, Arianna “Ana” Kegley, Evan Wood; a brother and sister-in-law, Woodrow Wilson Beamer and Mary Ruth; and a nephew, Johnny Beamer, and Susan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ramey was preceded in death by her husband, Tildon Daniel “Dan” Ramey. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Maple Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Tommy Nichols officiating. No formal visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, North Carolina 27017. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
