Randy Christopher Collins

Mr. Randy Christopher Collins, age 70 of Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, surrounded by his family. Mr. Collins was born in Surry County on November 13, 1954, to the late Moses Collins, Jr. and Frances Pauline Lowe Collins. Randy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mount Airy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Randy graduated from North Surry High School, and ECPI in Greensboro, NC. He went on to dedicate 30 years of his career to RJR Tobacco Company as an IT specialist. Growing up, Randy was active in the Boy Scouts. As an adult, he was a Scout Master of Troop 517 for a couple years. Some of his favorite activities through the years included snow skiing, trout fishing, camping, and yearly family beach trips. Also, he enjoyed driving for Mayberry Squad Car Tours. In his own free time, if you asked what he was doing, his answer was “I’ve got piddlin’ to do.” Of all the things “Pa” enjoyed in life, helping care for his three grandchildren was at the top of his list. Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Dana Holder Collins; daughter and son-in-law, Amy Collins Angel and Tim; son and daughter-in-law, Dustin Collins and Kayla; three grandchildren, Liam Collins, Kaison Collins, Aubree Angel; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Debbie Collins Bryant, Denise Collins Cox and Roy, Vickie Collins Flippin; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by two sisters, Diane Collins Niston, and Donna Collins Williams. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Reverend Alex Martin officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Moody Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
