Raymond Bracky Rogers

Mr. Raymond Bracky Rogers, 90, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 24, 2026, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Mr. Rogers was born July 12, 1935, in Surry County, the oldest of three children born to the late Raymond L. and Mayno Carter Rogers. A proud graduate of Beulah High School, Class of 1954, Bracky answered his nation’s call to service when he was drafted into the United States Army in September 1958. He served honorably until his discharge in 1960. His time in the military helped shape the strong work ethic, integrity, and sense of responsibility that became hallmarks of his life.

A man of vision, determination, and integrity, Bracky founded Rogers Realty and Auction Company in 1964. Through hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to treating people fairly, he built a business that became widely respected throughout the region. Even after his retirement, his love for the company never waned, and he continued to stop by the office each week to visit with employees, clients, and friends. His reputation extended well beyond his hometown as he was honored to serve as president of the National Auctioneers Association, a testament to the esteem in which he was held by colleagues across the nation.

While his professional accomplishments were many, Bracky would most want to be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His family was the center of his life, and he delighted in spending time with those he loved, celebrating their milestones, and sharing in the everyday moments that became cherished memories.

Bracky was a man of deep and abiding faith. A longtime member of White Plains Friends Meeting, he faithfully served as an elder, sang in the church choir, and sought to live out his Christian testimony through humility, kindness, and service to others. His quiet witness, gentle spirit, and steadfast trust in the Lord touched countless lives. He found great joy in worship and in using his musical talents to glorify God and encourage those around him.

He also possessed many talents and interests that brought joy to both himself and those around him. Bracky was a pianist who shared his gift by playing in several churches through the years. He found great pleasure in cooking for family and friends, tending his garden, and watching things grow under his attentive care. Whether seated at the piano, preparing a favorite meal, or working in the garden, he approached life with enthusiasm, gratitude, and a servant’s heart.

He is survived by a son, Bracky Mark Rogers (Deidre); a daughter, Susan Rogers Holder (Sam); three grandchildren, Dustin Bracky Rogers (Britni), Deyton Rogers Gough (Chase), and Samuel Bracky Holder; six great-grandchildren, Kenedi Blaire Rogers, Hudson Bracky Rogers, Kenston Wade Rogers, Wyatt Lane Rogers, Baylor Cain Gough, and Grayson Mark Gough; a sister, Charlotte Rogers Moore; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Newman (Terry) and Linda Gammons; two brothers-in-law, Alton Gammons (Carol) and Arvil Gammons (Janie); several nieces and nephews; and a special friend who became part of the family, Geraldo Rojas.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Gammons Rogers; a great-grandson, Tyson Bracky Rogers; a brother, Dale Rogers; two brothers-in-law, Wade Moore and Cleon Gammons; and a nephew, Joseph Caleb Moore.

A service of worship and celebration of Bracky’s life will be held Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dusty Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the National Auctioneers Foundation (NAA), 11900 West 87th Street Parkway, Suite 120, Lenexa, KS 66215; or White Plains Friends Meeting, 849 Old Highway 601, Mount Airy, NC 27030.

Those who knew Bracky will remember his warm smile, his wisdom, his unwavering faith, and the genuine interest he took in the lives of others. Though his presence will be greatly missed, his legacy endures in the family he cherished, the business he founded, the church he faithfully served, and the countless friendships he cultivated throughout his ninety years.
