Mrs. Rebecca Hodge Wood McMeans, age 39 of Meadows of Dan, VA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at her home. She was born in Henry County on July 23, 1987 to Troy Wood and Tammy Wood. She preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Gilbert Wood; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Lala Hubbard; and uncle, Raymond Hubbard.
Becky was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church where she had tirelessly worked on the choir books, and anything else that she was physically able to do for the church. She was a gift from God to the family, and a loving mother to her children. She loved her fur babies, and enjoyed playing bingo where she was very competitive.
She is survived by her parents, Troy and Tammy Wood; her husband of 20 years, Thomas McMeans; four children, Emma McMeans and her fiancée, Ryan Smith, Mischa McMeans, Kaylee McMeans, and Ivan McMeans; one sister, Rosie Wood, and paternal grandmother, Ellen Belcher.
Funeral service for Becky will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Chapel with Pastor Joe Young officiating. Burial will follow in Hubbard Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vesta Fire and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 911, Meadows of Dan, VA 24120.
