Rev. Linda Blessing

Rev. Linda Blessing, age 72 of Mt. Airy, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 9, 2012. Rev. Blessing was born in Anderson County, SC on October 24, 1939 to James W. and Lorraine S. Blessing. She attended Hannah High School in Anderson and graduated from Lander University. Rev. Blessing taught school on military bases in Germany, Spain and Turkey after which she enrolled in Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta and was ordained in the Presbyterian Church, PCUSA. She served Cohutta Presbyterian Church in Cohutta, GA and moved to Mt. Airy in 1982 where she served Flat Rock Presbyterian Church. She later served as associate pastor with her husband at Hills and Pine Ridge Presbyterian Churches in Pilot Mountain. She also served Dinwiddie and Fairview Presbyterian Churches in Hillsville and then Fellowship Church in Ararat Va. until her retirement. Her love after retirement was volunteering at Northern Hospital Wednesday's. Surviving is her husband, Jim Mauldin, her mother, Lorraine Blessing, a sister Tissie Watson. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
