Rev. Sidney Victor "Junior" Easter, Jr

Rev. Sidney Easter, Jr., age 70, of Lowgap, loving husband of Clara Vivian Childress Easter, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 11, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center. Rev. Easter was born in Surry County, May 9, 1936 to Sidney Victor Easter, Sr. and Lou Leona Leftwich Easter. He was the minister of Amazing Grace Baptist Church and was retired from Scenic Ford. Surviving are his wife, Clara Childress Easter of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Vivian Sue Easter of the home; Myra and Fred Robertson of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Neal and Sue Easter and Noel and Julie Easter all of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Sidney Watson, Shane Grose, Cory Mosley, Summer Robertson, Scotty Easter and wife Kasey, and Jake Easter; a brother and sisters-in-law, Archie and Christine Easter of Mt. Airy; Bonnie Easter of Mt. Airy; Carol Hensley of Mt. Airy; and a brother-in-law, Claude Childress of Mebane. In addition to his parents, Rev. Easter was preceded in death by sisters, Brenda Holloway and Linda Jones; and brothers, Ray Easter, Victor Easter and Bobby Easter and a half sister, Barbara Kay. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 14, 2006 at Amazing Grace Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Jonathan Barker, Rev. Junior Dawson and Rev. Dale Bass. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 until 9:00 at the church. Moody Funeral Home is serving the Easter family.
