Richard Lee Banner

Mr. Richard Lee Banner, 58, of 1711 North Main Street, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Banner was born August 17, 1950, in Wythe County, VA, to the late Joseph Benton and Jane Tayman Banner. He was formerly employed at Siemens/Westinghouse in Rural Hall and a member of the Methodist faith. He is survived by a longtime companion, Sandra Walker of Mount Airy; two sons, Richie Banner of Cana, VA, and Justin Banner of Greensboro; and a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Dave Morgan of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 7, 2008, at 3:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Fonda Younger officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
