Rickey Douglas Weavil

Mr. Ricky Douglas Weavil passed away on Thursday June 6, 2024 in the presence of his family. Ricky had just celebrated a birthday of 70 years, a 13 year new heart birthday, and a wedding anniversary of 46 years. He was born on April 16, 1954, in Forsyth County to Fair Douglas Weavil and Mary Opal Vanhoy Weavil, now deceased. Ricky was the owner of Weavil Services for many years, an accomplished beekeeper, and a blacksmith of both useful and beautiful things. His family and friends who were thankful for his life and will cherish his memory are his loving wife, Dr. Patricia Dockery Weavil; his daughter and son-in-law,  Rebecca Weavil Thompson and husband Jeff Thompson of Pfafftown; his only grandson who followed his Papaw everywhere, Liam Ricky Thompson. Ricky was blessed to have a loving extended family; brother-in-law, Daniel Dockery, Jr. and wife Ginger Dockery; his nephews, Daniel Dockery (Audra and great nephew Dean), Robert Dockery, and niece Salem Dockery. Ricky and Patricia have planned an outdoor service to be held on June 30 at 4:00pm at the King Central Park at the shelter immediately behind the Veterans Memorial (302 Kirby Rd, King NC). Church hymns and gospel music will follow a word by Preacher Darrell Hampton. The service will be casual and come as you are, all friends and family are welcome.

Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
