Ricky Harris Puckett

Mr. Ricky Harris Puckett, age 62 of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 3, 2024.   Mr. Puckett was born on November 8, 1961, in Surry County to the late Mary Ruth Tate Jenkins.  Ricky was a loving husband, brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Karen East Puckett; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rhonda Hawks and Ronald, Jeannie Tate and John, Maude Donathon; one brother and sister-in-law, Jamie Jenkins and Sharon, five nieces, Megan King, Alison Donathon, Donna Jenkins, Michelle Jenkins, Shannon Dorgan and Tom; four nephews, Chris Hawks, Matthew Jenkins, Joey Jenkins, Robert Jenkins; great niece, Etta Dorgan; his mother-in-law, Juanita East; sister-in-law, Deborah Gentry; brother and sister-in-law, Robby East and Susan Moore; along with special friends, James Taylor, Ronnie Easter, Gary Noonkester, and Wayne East.  Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ruth Tate Jenkins; a brother, Mitchell Jenkins; and his maternal grandparents, Jesse Harris and Maude Edwards Tate; his father-in-law, Robert Earl East, Sr.   A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Reverend James Taylor and Reverend Arlis Thomas officiating.  Interment will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.  The family will also receive friends at other times at 142 Starting Line Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
