Robert "Bob" Lonnie Tickle

 Mr. Robert Lonnie ‘Bob” Tickle, age 78, of Winston Salem, NC passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the Novant Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Charleston County, SC on March 27, 1946, the son of the late Lonnie W. Tickle Jr, and the late Annie Dukes Tickle. He was a graduate of Mount Airy High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was veteran of the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnamese War. He graduated from Officers Candidate School in February 1968 and rose to the rank of Captain. He was a Bronze Star recipient. Surviving is his son, Ryan Tickle; sister, Lynda Tickle McNeeley and husband Bill; brother, Steven Tickle. A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mount Airy with the service conducted by Rev. Richard Loman. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will visit with friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Memorial Honor Guard, Mount Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436, 691 West Lebanon St., Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the Tickle family.
