Robert Jackson "Jack" Edwards

Mr. Robert Jackson “Jack” Edwards, age 87 of Cana, Virginia passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Surry Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mount Airy.  Mr. Edwards was born in Carroll County, Virginia on August 25, 1936, to the late John Thomas and Hassie Gwynn Edwards.  Jack was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  Surviving is his daughter, Jeanne Edwards; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and his special cat, Baby.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ruby Willis Edwards, his wife of 67 years, ; two sisters, Ida Gwynn Edwards, Margaret Violet Edwards O’Neal; two brothers, John Thomas Edwards, Jr. , William “Bill” Howard Edwards.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Willow Hill Moravian Church with Reverend Chuck Harmon and Reverend Kenny King officiating.   Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Willow Hill Moravian Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 474, Cana, Virginia 24317.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
