Robert Irvin Gammons

Mr. Robert "Irvin" Gammons, 73, of Ararat, VA, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Central Continuing Care in Mount Airy. He was born January 19, 1937, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Raymond William and Bertha Hayden Gammons. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Gammons is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Dean Hill of Ararat, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Cleo Gammons of Ararat, VA; three nieces and their husbands, Michelle and Robert Pendergraft of Winston-Salem, Melissa and Mike Shorten of Roanoke, VA, and Jennifer and Troy Bryant of Pilot Mountain; and two nephews, Michael Gammons and Jason Gammons, both of Ararat, VA. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, by the Rev. Joseph Easter. The family will receive friends from Thursday 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Activities Department at Central Continuing Care, 1287 Newsome Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
