Robert "Farmer" Reid Hensley

Mr. Robert "Farmer" Reid Hensley, 81, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born in Surry County on December 29, 1933 to the late Albia and Edna Hall Hensley. Mr. Hensley was a retired truck driver from Hardy Brothers and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Connie Marie Leftwich Hensley; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lesa Hensley; step sons and step daughter-in-law; Phillip and Alice Chaney, and David Chaney; grandchildren, Blake Hensley, Meredith Hensley, Andrew Chaney, Christopher Chaney, Heather Marie Chaney, Josh Chaney, and Tyler Easter; great grandchildren, Tyler Johnson, Taylor Stanley, and Drew Chaney; a great great grandson, Kinley Stanley; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Margie Hensley; a niece, Mary Hudson Standifur. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hensley was preceded in death by twin grandchildren, Maggie and Corbin Hensley. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in Korners Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
