Robert Jones Lovill, III

Mr. Robert Jones Lovill, III age 81, of Mount Airy passed away at his home on November 15, 2025. Mr. Lovill was born on January 31, 1944, to Robert Jones Lovill, Jr. and Esther Brown Lovill. He graduated from Mount Airy High School in 1962 and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1966. He served his country in the Air National Guard. He was a lifelong resident of Mount Airy. Bobby loved the outdoors. Biking, boating, hiking, and skeet shooting always brought a smile to his face and he loved sharing these good times with his many friends. Bobby was owner and president of Town and Country Realty and Builders. He knew every inch of Surry County providing homes for many of its residents. He was smart, witty, full of fun, kind and generous. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Johnson Lovill, his sister, Barbara Lovill Hooks and brother-in-law, Dr. Borden Hooks, sister-in-law, Kathy Outlaw, brother-in-law, Allen Johnson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sons, Robert Jones Lovill IV, and Allen Johnson Lovill. A private graveside will be conducted at Oakdale Cemetery with Reverend Sarah Morris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is entrusted with Mr. Lovill’s arrangements.
