Robert Floyd Venable

Mr. Robert Floyd Venable, 54, of 403 Wolf Creek Lane, Ararat, VA, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Venable was born December 18, 1952, in Surry County, son of the late Floyd Roosevelt and Margie Powell Venable. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Randall Hodges of Mount Airy; a son, Brandon Hodges of Sparta; two grandchildren, Colten Venable and Cameron Venable, both of Mount Airy; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sylvia and Ben Mauldin of Mount Airy, Rita and Randy Pack of Westfield, and Janice Toomes of Randleman; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles and Libby Venable of Mount Airy and Marty Venable of Florida; and a special friend, Marcia Wickline of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Venable was preceded in death by a sister, Jonell Boles. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the home of his daughter, 648 Lowe Road, Mount Airy.
