Mr. Rodger Allen Wall, 77, of Dobson, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday evening, July 14, 2025, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Wall was born April 29, 1948, in Surry County, the son of the late Roy J. and Myrtle Jenkins Wall. Rodger was raised in Siloam and graduated from Surry Central High School in 1969. He dedicated over three decades of service to Proctor-Silex Inc. before retiring. A devoted member of Woodland Baptist Church in Rural Hall, Rodger faithfully preached the gospel for more than 47 years. His ministry extended to jail outreach, nursing homes, Blue Mountain Baptist Homes, and Craftsmen of Christ Ministry, where he touched countless lives with his passion for sharing God’s word. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Helen Leftwich Wall; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Misty Wall and Brad and Wendy Wall; five grandchildren, Isaiah Parks, Kenedi Wall, Hunter Wall, Mattison Wilmoth (Cortland), and Bryce Wall; three great-grandchildren; and his siblings and their spouses, Chester and Cathy Wall, Larry Wall, Pat Simpson, Linda Allred, Phyllis and Kenneth Edwards, and Mike Wall. The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Anchored in Jesus Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Stone and the Rev. Steve Mahaffey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
