Roger Ray Carter

Mr. Roger Ray Carter, age 69, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025 at his home. He was born on April 6, 1956 in Surry County to the late Charlie and Thelma Simpson Carter. He was a loving brother who loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He especially loved carp fishing, before his declining health you could always find him on the bank of a carp pond. He loved his dog, Scooby. Left to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Linda Thomas of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Carter (Judy), sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Moorefield (Roger); cousin, Doug Carter; nieces and nephews, Kim, Chase, and Ashley Moorefield, Kelly Stewart, and Timmy Ring. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. There will be no formal services at this time.
