Mr. Roger Lee Crissman, 64, of 281 Community Building Road, Pilot Mountain, passed away Saturday morning, November 23, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Crissman was born August 31, 1949, in Surry County, the son of the late Fletcher Kenley and Minnie Mae Doss Crissman. Roger worked as a lead installer at Tafco Refrigeration in Matthews for many years and was a member of the Christian faith. He is survived by his wife, Joan Ring Crissman of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Chris Wall of Pilot Mountain; three grandchildren, Christopher Wall, Amy Wall, and Austin Wall, all of Pilot Mountain; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ola Mae and Johnny White of Dobson and Pauline and Carlie Creed of Ararat; a sister-in-law, Gloria Crissman Lester of Siloam; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Sandra Ring of Pilot Mountain; several nieces and nephews, Candy Ring Gibson, Carolyn Ann Surratt, Rusty Ring, Faye Tuttle, Patricia Hoots, Dusty Ring, Johnny White, Jr., and Debra Ruth; several great nieces and nephews; and special loved ones, Tina Ring, Brady Ring, and April Ayers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crissman was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Lee Crissman; a brother, Willie Henry Crissman; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emery William and Mabel Willard Ring; and a brother-in-law, Timothy Wayne Ring. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Chamblin, Jr., Brother Don Collins, and the Rev. Darrell Price officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
