Roger Wayne Leonard

Mr. Roger Wayne Leonard, age 87, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born on September 26, 1938 in Surry County to the late Kermit and Beulah Berrier Leonard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will surely be missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Patricia “Pat” Simmons Leonard; daughters and son-in-law, Sheila Pardue Leonard, Regina Leonard Tickle (Brian); son and daughter-in-law, Monty Leonard (Angela); grandchildren, Shauna McCraw (Kenny), Colby Pardue (Hayley), Casey Pardue, Brady Tickle (Grace Morris), Erica Tickle Sheffield (Eddie), Adam Tickle, Justin Leonard, Kelly Leonard; great-grandchildren, Kennis Ann McCraw, William Wayne Pardue, Iris Amelia Jean Pardue; brother, Darrell Leonard; nieces and nephews, Lisa Acklin, Jason Leonard (Brooke), Angie Leonard Hemmings (Wesley), Christopher Leonard (Tomi), In addition to his parents Mr. Leonard was preceded in death by an infant sister, Glenda June Leonard. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Rev. JD Simmons. Burial will follow in the McCraw Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home.
