Roger Wayne McKinney

Mr. Roger “Wayne” McKinney, 85, of Pilot Mountain, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, in Winston-Salem, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Wayne was born on November 4, 1940, in Bakersville, North Carolina, to the late Welzie and Neva Gouge McKinney. A funeral service and celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in King, with Pastor Kevin Broyhill officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. A second funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Roan Mountain Baptist Church in Bakersville, NC. Burial will follow in the Green Young Cemetery in Bakersville, NC. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 536 S. Main St., King, NC 27021. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
