Roger Dale Payne

        Mr. Roger Dale Payne, age 74 of Ararat, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Surry County, NC on June 11, 1949, to the late Elmer Lee Payne and Marie Butcher Payne.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Hawks Payne; two brothers, Donnie, and Doug Payne; one sister, Gail Watson; and a great granddaughter, Princess Kynslee Ann Payne.

         Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, Greg and Dana Payne of Mt. Airy, NC, Chad Payne and fiancé, Taylor Dawn Westmoreland of Pilot Mountain, NC; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jonathan Evans of Glade Valley, NC; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Kocis of Edgewood, MD, Brenda Lee Perry of Orange City, FL, Gloria Wilkerson of Durham, NC; a special friend, Craig Atkins; and several nieces and nephews.

         A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, June 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
