Mr. Ronald Lee Dixon, 58, of 201 Apple Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday night, December 11, 2013, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Dixon was born July 8, 1955, in Harford County, MD, the son of the late Verlon and Mary Gardner Dixon. Ronald was a self-employed dry wall contractor for many years. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tina Dixon and Brian Watson of Pilot Mountain; a son, Mikle Eugene Dixon, Sr. of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren, Autumn Johnson, Brian Berry, Mason Watson, Haley Dixon, Kayleah Dixon, Deven Haynes, and Damien Watson; three great-grandchildren, Elijah Mikle Ray Berry, Dallas Hunter Watson, and Jayden Avery Knight; a sister, Judy Deatherage of Mount Airy; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Randy and Beth Dixon of Mount Airy and James and Sharon Dixon of High Point. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by a grandson, Mikle Eugene Dixon, Jr.; two brothers, Danny Ray Dixon and Mikle E. Dixon; and a nephew, Lyle "Grass" Sechrist. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with the Rev. James Odum officiating. Burial will follow in the Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Judy Deatherage, 155 Cherokee Trail, Mount Airy. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.
