Ronald "Ronnie" Scott Harris

Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” Scott Harris, age 75 of Dobson, NC passed away at his home after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.  Monday morning April 22, 2024.  He was born June 4, 1948, in Surry County to Margaret Williams Harris and the late Joe Scott Harris.  He was retired as an auto body repairman working with his father for many years, and Patterson Collison Center.  Ronnie was an avid UNC Tarheel fan, an avid gardener, he loved bass fishing with his wife at their place at Lake Norman, and he was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.  Mr. Harris is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Charmaine Jones Harris of the home; daughter, Stacey Harris and Mike Clark; sons and daughter-in-law, Josh and Kelly Utt, and Justin Utt and Kim Kidd; grandchildren, Madelyne Street, Abigail Pulliam, Scotty Pulliam, Ava Utt, Jack Utt, Cane Utt, King Utt, and Sadie O’Neal; Ricky’s widow and special sister-in-law, Bonnye Harris; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Brenda Harris; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Mike Hunt; and several other family and friends.  In addition to his father, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Richard “Ricky” Eric Harris.  There will be a service of celebration for Ronnie at a later date at the picnic shelter at the Devil’s Den and burial in the Morris Family Cemetery in Fancy Gap.   Charmaine would like to thank Bonnye and Marty Hodges for being such special caregivers to Mamaw Margaret and Ronnie during Ronnie’s long illness and hospital stays.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
