Mr. Ronald Ray Stanley, age 84, of Dobson, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023, at Pruitt Health in Elkin. He was born February 21, 1939, in Surry County, to the late Jessie Alfred Stanley and the late Beatrice Coe Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Peele, and Jewel Boyd; and a special nephew, Robert Boyd.

            Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Ellen Louise Chrismon Stanley; daughter and son-in-law, Lesa and Richard Brindle; grandchildren, Elizabeth Creed, Misty Brindle (Brice Murray), and Jenny and Michael Canosa. Great grandchildren, Chloe Creed, and Wesson Creed. Mr. Stanley was loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and an avid Carolina Tarheels fan, worked for years at Copeland Elementary School as custodian, and then for the maintenance department for the county of Surry till his retirement. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 11:30-1:30 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Marty Reece officiating. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made Bear Creek Baptist Church, 724 Bear Creek Church Road, Dobson NC 27017. The family would like to offer special thanks to Pruitt Health and to the Elkin Dialysis Center for the care given to Mr. Stanley. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Stanley Family.
