Ronnie Lee Hawks

Mr. Ronnie Lee Hawks, 60, of 171 Paige Street, Mount Airy, passed away Monday afternoon, October 12, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Hawks was born January 13, 1949, in Surry County, to Sarah Christine Easter Hawks and the late Roy Lee Hawks. He was formerly employed at White Pines Country Club and was a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Dale and Cindy Hawks of Lowgap; his mother, Sarah Christine Easter Hawks of the home; three aunts, Wanda Kirkman and Ella Mae Cain, both of Mount Airy, and Josephine Towe of Winston-Salem; an uncle, Glenn Easter of Mount Airy; a special cousin and friend, Tim Lovill of Mount Airy; and several other cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. James Joseph officiating. No formal visitation will be held at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Moody Funeral Services, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
