Ronnie Gray Jessup, Sr

Mr. Ronnie Gray Jessup, Sr., 62, of 1202 Newsome Street, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday morning, March 20, 2014, at his home. Mr. Jessup was born October 2, 1951, in Surry County, to Naomi Hornaday Jessup and the late James Sidney Jessup. Ronnie was formerly employed at Brady's Furniture Company in Rural Hall. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Deborah Hawks Jessup of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronnie Gray Jessup, Jr. and Angie Jessup of Kings Mountain, Sonny Jessup and Pamela of Floyd, VA, and Jason Ray and Kellie Jessup of Mount Airy; four grandchildren, Samantha Alexander, Taylor Alexander, and Haley Jessup, all of Mount Airy, and Riley Jessup of Kings Mountain; his mother, Naomi Hornaday Jessup of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, James Michael "Jimmy" and Mildred Jessup of Cana, VA; a special niece, Denise Jessup Hatchett and her husband, Greg, of Newport News, VA; a special nephew, Jimmy Jessup and his wife, Carrie, of Newport News, VA; his stepfather-in-law, Arthur Lewis Heller of Ararat, VA; and a special friend, Maxine Scott of Mount Airy. In addition to his father, Mr. Jessup was preceded in death by a special grandmother, Pearl Hornaday. To celebrate his life, the family will receive friends Friday, March 28, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. There will not be a formal memorial service.
