Rosa Elizabeth Hodges Hauser

Mrs. Rosa Elizabeth Hodges Hauser, 78, of 1124 Fowler Road, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday night, May 28, 2011, at Golden Living Center. Mrs. Hauser was born February 16, 1933, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Major Lee and Gleamer Hawks Hodges. Rosa retired from Cross Creek Apparel and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was involved in WMU and Grandma's Club. She was also a volunteer at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She is survived by a daughter, Dianne Hauser Sessoms of Mount Airy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Wade Hauser, Jr. of Ararat, Jeff and Margaret Hauser of Mount Airy, and Dr. John D. and Robin Hauser of Ararat; four grandchildren, Brent Casstevens and his wife, Christine Casstevens, Bradley Hauser and his fiancée, Whitney Armstrong, Jacob Hauser, and Kailen Hauser; a great-grandchild, Zac Casstevens; two stepgrandchildren, Logan Phillips and Carter Phillips; a sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Leonard Davenport of Winston-Salem; a sister-in-law, Iris Hodges of Woodbridge, VA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hauser was preceded in death by her husband, James Wade Hauser, Sr.; and three brothers, Arlis Hodges, Marlan Hodges, and Glenn Hodges. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Alex L. Martin and Mr. Greg Davenport officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
