Rosie Lee Clark Lawson age 87 of Patrick Springs, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Stuart Community Hospital. She was born in Patrick County on May 2, 1938 to Jim Clark and Una Martin Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Earnest Lawson; four sisters, Mae Phillips, Mildred Isley, Bessie Overby, and Ida Newman; four brothers, John Clark, Harry “Junior” Clark, Reed Clark, and Frank Clark.
Mrs. Lawson was a lifelong member at Minnies Chapel Wesleyan Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and tithing secretary. She retired from Pannel Knitting and then later worked for Bengal apparel.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph Lawson (Kathy) of Martinsville, VA, Randy Lawson of Chatham, VA; one daughter, Lesia Lawson Murray (James) of Mayodan, NC; four grandchildren, James Zachariah Murray, Mary-Katherine Bishop, Susan Taylor, and John Hurd, Jr; seven grandchildren; a special caregiver, Janet Barlow.
Funeral service for Mrs. Lawson will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Minnies Chapel Wesleyan Church, 161 Minnies Chapel Loop, Stuart, VA with Pastor Gary Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Stuart Community Hospital for the care they gave during this difficult time.
