Roy Clifford Haynes

Mr. Roy Clifford Haynes, 63, of Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday night November 22, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.  He was born in Surry County on May 4, 1959, to the late Raleigh Emmett Haynes and Bessie Mae Crotts Haynes Burton.  Roy was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend.  He was a father figure who was loved, valued, and respected and will definitely be missed.  He was a mechanic for many years as long as his health permitted him.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife and special caregiver, Penny Lovill Haynes; a son, Shane Sawyers; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and William Chappell; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Ronnie Dale Haynes and Debbie Tate, Emmett Ray “Dink” Haynes, and Jesse “Bug” and Michelle Burton; a very special furry friend, Socksie; and his nieces and nephews (aka his children), Chasity Dawn Ayers, Brandy Nicole Harker, Steven Dale Haynes, and James Isaac Burton.  There will be a celebration of Roy’s life at a later date.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Haynes family.
