Mr. Roy Glenn Mossor, 89, of Mount Airy, NC, formerly of Bethel Park, PA, and North Fort Myers, FL, passed away Thursday night, April 2, 2015, at Ridgecrest Retirement and Assisted Living Community. Mr. Mossor was born February 2, 1926, in Ritchie County, WV, one of six children born to the late William Henry and Alta Gay Prather Mossor. Roy served our country in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a gas and petroleum engineer at Columbia Gas for 38 years and was a member of the Christian faith. He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jennifer Jill and Paul Bowlsby of Fort Myers, FL, Suzanne Lynn Mossor of Pilot Mountain, NC, and Leah and Dr. Jeff Tunstall of Mount Airy, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip John and Doris Mossor of Radcliffe, KY; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Thomas Flickinger, Mike and Stephanie Flickinger, Ralf Flickinger Mossor, Scott and Amanda Harigan, Kaitlyn Tunstall, Amber Mossor, Courtney Tunstall, Kelsey Tunstall, and Anne-Louise Tunstall; his great-grandchildren, Traigh Harigan, Christine and Shawn Birch, Tyler Flickinger, Colby Flickinger, and Devin Flickinger; a great-great-grandchild, Adler Thomas Birch; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mossor was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Maxine Smith Mossor; three sisters, Lenore Mossor Deem, Naomi Mossor Clark, and Clara Lee Mossor Bumgardner; and two brothers, Leonard Mossor and Johnny Mossor. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 6, 2015, at 11:00 AM at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Harrisville, WV, with the Rev. Connie Mossor officiating. Military honors will also be conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will greet friends before and after the graveside service. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at Ridgecrest Retirement and Assisted Living Community and the staff at Live Long Well Care. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy, NC, and McCullough-Rogers and Raiguel Funeral Home in Harrisville, WV, are serving the family.
