Ruby Elizabeth Inman

Mrs. Ruby Elizabeth O'dell Inman, 98, of Mt. Airy, joined Jesus and loved ones on April 6, 2020. In addition to her parents Davis and Geneva O'dell, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Earl; son, Davis Inman; sisters Sadie Hawks, Ona Wood, Carrie Griffith, Lillie Tilley and brothers Bill, Roby, Cullen and Everette O'dell. Survivors include daughter Karen Inman of Mt. Airy;  grandson Max and wife Camille Inman of Cary, NC and great-grandchild arriving in mid-July.  Ruby retired from Renfro Mills, after which she received her CNA license from Surry Community College. Her many private clients, including family members, were blessed by her exemplary care. She was well known for her Southern cooking and baking skills, especially biscuits and Brownstone Front Cake.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A real fighter, she was a 47-year breast cancer survivor; 20 of those years living with Alzheimer's disease.  The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice Staff for months of loyal support as well as Dunmore Plantation Staff for 14 years of professional and loving care, and friendship.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
