A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The family will receive friends following the service in the Moody Chapel. We wish to take this time to honor our mother — a woman whose life was defined by sacrifice, strength, and love.

Known by those closest to her as Mom and Grandma, she gave more than most people ever see. She sacrificed her comfort, her time, and often her own dreams so that her children could have better lives. She didn’t complain about what she gave up — she simply did what needed to be done, with quiet determination and a heart full of love. Her sacrifices weren’t loud, but they were powerful. They shaped who we are today.

She was also referred to most lovingly as a "tough cookie" — and I mean that in the best possible way. Life didn’t go easy on her, but she didn’t go easy on life either. She had grit, resilience, and a strength that couldn’t be shaken. She faced challenges head-on, stood her ground when it mattered, and never let hardship steal her dignity.

But behind that toughness was a tender heart. She loved deeply, even when she didn’t always say it out loud. Her love showed up in meals made, prayers whispered, sacrifices made, and doors held open when we didn’t even realize we needed them held.

Grandma taught us what perseverance looks like. She taught us that love isn’t always soft — sometimes it’s strong, steady, and unwavering. She showed us how to keep going when life feels heavy, and how to show up even when it’s hard.

Though we grieve her loss, we carry her with us — in our values, in our strength, and in the way we love others. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched, especially in her children and family.

Grandma, thank you for everything you gave, for every sacrifice, and for being the person who shaped us into who we are today. We love you, miss you, and honor you by living with the same strength, courage, and love that you showed us every day.

We also wish to thank Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy, who is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
